Summer term in Dosbarth 4 so far!
What a busy few weeks already! The children have completed building, decorating and evaluating their castles for design and technology and we have started learning how to use programs such as scratch to create simple animations using coding.
We have learned all about poetry using figurative language and created our own poem using similes. They are so creative I can’t wait until you see them! We have been working on reading analogue clocks and telling the time to more and more accurate degrees.
For earth day we looked at sustainability and key terms such as carbon footprint. We learned about recycling and what can or cannot be recycled. We have also been using the forest schools area to learn about leadership, team work and fire safety!
Not only that but we started our new u it for Cymraeg- Cymru a fi! We will be looking at ways to use our Welsh to talk all about Wales!

This morning we had a PE session with Martin Kelly – the sports development officer and then fire safety with Mrs Holsgrove 😀

Dosbarth 1 making ‘bug hotels’ or should we say ‘mansions’!!!
Wales Outdoor Learning week 22-28 April 2024.
After School Club – Dosbarth 5 a 6. Using a safety sheath knife ands a handmade mallet to chop kindling for the fire. We talked about all aspects of safety when using tools and the importance of staying at the tool station when using tools.
! Once the fire had food we could toast our marshmallows! yum!
It’s a bug’s life in Dosbarth 1.
Our mini topic this term is all about minibeasts. Here are some photos of us on our minibeast hunt. We recorded what bugs we found and how many and then added the data to a chart on J2E.

Canolfan Heulwen
Another great week in Canolfan Heulwen! The children have been measuring this week. They have also enjoyed learning outside when the weather has been dry and baking cupcakes as well as monitoring the growth our caterpillars!

Three fabulous sessions in our art club, homework club and gardening club this afternoon. Thank you to the staff and Maes and Cwmtawe students for giving up their time to support pupils.
