What another great day in ‘Forest Friends’ today! The weather was perfect for pupils to lead their own learning whilst exploring our lovely area. We even managed to fit in a good sort out too. We have had a great time the last few weeks in Forest Schools. Last week, we went over fire safety and safety in the log circle. We had a go at lighting a spark with the flint and steel and talked about how to keep a happy fire. Lighting the spark took perseverance and resilience! Pupils were fantastic.
This week, we had a go at whittling using a safety sheaf knife. We made marshmallow sticks out of willow branches so we could enjoy toasted marshmallows! None were lost on the fire- Result!! It was harder than it looked, but they all stuck at it and did a great job. Da iawn pawb!
The children have been learning about the 4 purposes of the curriculum this week, what it means to be confident, ethical, health and creative! We also had some budding young actors helping out during assembly with walk the book from D4! We found out about the kingdoms of Wales, continued to learn methods for multiplication and interpreted databases. The children are loving gymnastics this term and have started putting their routines together. 😊

A great week in Dosbarth 4! We sequenced our model text, continued learning multiplication techniques, learnt about William the Conqueror and the Bayeux Tapestry, used branching databases and began rehearsing our class assembly!
