Canolfan Heulwen

We have had a great end to our successful term in Canolfan Heulwen. The children have enjoyed making Easter crafts, Progression Step 1 learners have completed their learning on their topic of ‘People who help us’ and the older children have enjoyed integrating into their mainstream classes for activities as well.

Thank you to all of the parents for coming to celebrate your child’s learning this term during our Easter celebration this week, it was lovely to see you all and the children were very proud to show you their achievements.

Dosbarth 4- Easter Baskets

A big thank you to the PTA for funding a lovely Easter treat for the children! They had a great time making and decorating the baskets!😊

Canolfan Heulwen

This week, some of the children in Canolfan Heulwen have been learning about odd & even numbers and identifying people and places in their local environment. The older children have enjoyed integrating into Dosbarth 4 and Dosbarth 5 and learning about angles.

Dosbarth 4 – W/B 11/03/24

The children have been amazing this week using d and t skills to strengthen corners and use all our previous learning to create a design for building model castles with moving parts!

We have completed a non-chronological report on Owain Glyndwr and used our digital skills to represent some of our favourite facts as an infographic! The children blew me away with how professional they made them look!

Dosbarth 4 – W/B 04/03/24

The children have been busy using formal language, learning new methods for division, designing and trying to use our skills and knowledge of mechanisms to make a working drawbridge and creating a digital fact file on Owain Glyndwr!

Dosbarth 4 – World Book Day!

Canolfan Heulwen

A busy week in Canolfan Heulwen! The children have enjoyed identifying people who help them in school and sharing photos of their family members in class. They have made the most of the fine weather with outdoor learning and exploring items that sink and float.

Some of the children thoroughly enjoyed their day out at the Disability 6 Nations at Llandarcy Academy of Sport. Well done to all who attended and thank you to parents who supported them in having this experience.

Forest School

Due to the strong winds and rain this afternoon, we had an indoor club full of team building activities, fitness and fun!

Dosbarth 4 – Cardiff Castle!

An incredible trip to Cardiff castle where we learned about where it all started, who has lived there and explored many rooms the families such as the Bute’s used to call home, we also learned all about the weapons and armour that knights or soldiers would have used at the time. We even got to try some on!

Dosbarth 4 – Eisteddfod winners!

Llongyfarchiadau!! Amazing entries all round but these individuals really stood out- bendigedig! Also special mention to the winner of her oracy competition for the Urdd! We are so proud!
